Obituary for Sis. Shautara Johnson
Sis. Shautara Johnson was born on September 27, 1987, in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend whose life touched the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Shautara graduated from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida, in 2007. She continued her education at Valencia Community College, Daytona State College, and Polk State College. She also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and was employed at Brookdale in Orlando, Florida, where she dedicated herself to serving others.
Shautara had a love for hospitality and enjoyed making others feel welcome and cared for. Her interests included interior decorating, cooking, and reading. These hobbies reflected her creativity, warmth, and appreciation for the things that made life special.
Shautara was a faithful member of World Survivors Church, under the leadership of Bishop Richard Williams. She faithfully served in several important roles within the ministry, including Church Secretary, Head of Hospitality, and Head Soprano of the church choir. Her dedication, commitment, and love for the church were evident in the many ways she served.
In honor of her life and lasting contributions to the ministry, the church choir will henceforth be known as the SRJ Choir. This tribute ensures that her name and legacy will continue to resonate through song and worship for generations to come.
Her greatest legacy lives on through her three beloved children: Geonas Datitma, Gezavier Datitma, and Chrystara Johnson, who will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, Mary Smith; her father, Marcus Garnett; her brothers, Ziryell Johnson and Marcus Garnett Jr.; her sisters, Selena Galloway, Alexandria Garnett, and Alexis Smith; seven uncles; one aunt; and a host of other relatives, cousins, friends, members of her church family, and loved ones.
Shautara was preceded in death by her brother, Dalphanite Johnson; her grandmothers, Betty Williams and Dolores Garnett; and her grandfathers, Willie Jr. Smith and Guy Garnett.
Though Shautara's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her service to her family, her church, and her community will never be forgotten. Her voice may be silent in our midst, but through the songs of the SRJ Choir, the love of her children, and the cherished memories of all who knew her, her legacy will continue to speak.
As we celebrate her life and reflect upon her journey, we find comfort in knowing that the impact of a life devoted to serving others never truly fades. We will remember Shautara not only for what she did but also for the love, dedication, and spirit she shared with everyone around her.
After morning announcements, her favorite quote would be, "After this there shall be glory." We hold true to the belief that the glory of the Lord has been revealed through her life and passing.
Rest well, Sis. Shautara Johnson. Your voice, your service, and your legacy will live on.
