Mary Alice Simmons 77 of South Daytona Beach was born on August 29, 1948, in Allendale, South Carolina, to the late Louise McDuffie Wright and Tom Wright.

Mary received her education through the Allendale County School System in Allendale, South Carolina. As she journeyed through life, she developed a strong work ethic and a heart for serving others. She was employed as a Dietary Aide at Lakewood Nursing Center in Crescent City, Florida, where she faithfully worked until her retirement.

Mary was united in marriage to Timothy Clark Simmons, who preceded her in death. Their union and the life they shared became an important part of her life's story.

Family held a very special place in Mary's heart.She was the loving mother of her one and only daughter, Yvette Mitchell of Daytona Beach, Florida.She treasured the moments spent surrounded by those she loved. Whether she was fishing, putting together puzzles, or simply spending quality time with her family, Mary found joy in life's meaningful moments.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved (husband) Timothy Clark Simmons (parents) Louise McDuffie Wright and Tom Wright (siblings) Leroy Wright, Oregon Wright, Bernard Wright, Tressie Lee Brantley, Hattie Lee Jordan, Maudell Hicks, Evelyn Wright.

On August 8, 2026, Mary peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of precious memories that will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.
