She graduated from Crescent City Jr Sr High School and attended Edwards Waters College earning her bachelor's degree in social work, she was employed for many years at the Hastings Youth Academy and Volusia County School District

Joyce was a tremendous advocator for all people in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family Her radiant smile & passion and her unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. Her absence leaves a void in our hearts. She was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love.
